Limitations and boundaries

There is a difference between limitations and boundaries.

Our limitations are often the limitations on what we can achieve.

Our boundaries are often the boundaries we set for ourselves.

If we have firm boundaries, we can limit the distractions that tempt us from left and from right, and allow us to push our limitations further and further.

If we have loose boundaries, we have no hope of getting close to testing our own limitations, because our energy will drain long before we reach anywhere close to the upper reaches of our potential.

Limitations are real. Not everyone can be Lionel Messi or Lebron James or Eminem.

But through our own choices about where we set our boundaries, or whether we set any boundaries at all, we often fall well short of finding out just what those limitations are.

Set boundaries to test limitations.
